I have upgraded to the newest mode manager and cannot get it to recognise when all devices are not present.
If I manually set the mode to away (Unarmed) then we come home it sets Home (unarmed) fine.
if i just use a single presence (virtual) and trigger the arrived and departed it works fine.
as soon as there are 2+ devices it doesn't work. can confirm the other devices show not present under devices.
I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled in case the import broke something.
Please can someone point me in the right direction
First, I only see one presence sensor listed. I suppose this is your “working” single presence sensor configuration.
Second, typically there are only two lines in the table: “Away”, “Presence to return from Away”. All the presence sensors you want to use to control Away/Not Away should be listed on both lines.
It looks like you are trying to set a specific mode when changing from the Away mode. Mode Manager will naturally change to the mode that should be in effect when everyone is home, just as if they had been there all along.
Am I understanding correctly that the problem is when both devices leave, the mode is staying at "Home (Unarmed)" instead of switching to "Away (Unarmed)" as you expect?
A screenshot of the logs might be helpful in seeing what is going on for this.
Since you have distinguished Armed separately from Unarmed for both Home and Away, I am not sure using modes is best method for tracking this.
Usually, people use modes like Day, Evening, Night and Away. Away is treated a bit different from the others. It allows you to define a mode that can override all other modes and return to the mode that would have been in effect if you had never left. This won't happen with other modes. They depend on events to trigger the evaluation of the conditions defined for changing to that mode. If the event has passed, there is no easy way to trigger the mode criterion evaluation after the fact.
It looks to me like the security system state is independent of the modes, hence Away and Home both being valid modes regardless of the security system status. Could you tell us more about what your overarching objective is? It would help us think through a manageable solution.
The reason for the modes is that i use them as a trigger for IFTTT as i have to arm and disarm other systems accordingly.
The blink doorbell only tracks motion if the system is armed. I also have some internal CCTV that supports privacy mode. Thus the home unarmed turns it all off, the away unarmed turns it on.
moving forward the armed modes will then allow sirens and door contacts.
