There are several locations in the Mode Lighting documentation that reference motion lighting, which I believe is incorrect.
- Open the Motion Lighting Apps and select Create New Mode Lighting App
If you want different lights to activate by different modes you will need to create multiple new motion lighting rules.
I was almost going to say that this looks correct to me, but now that I re-read and it's clear what parts of the docs you're quoting, I'd say you're right. Motion Lighting Apps is the name of the parent app that lets you add Motion Lighting and Mode Lighting child apps (I don't name things around here...), so Step 1 that you quoted is actually correct. To some extent I guess the rest could be correct too if they're referring to the parent app, but it definitely looks like Step 4 and Step 8 that reference "motion lighting rules" might have meant to say "mode" (or "mode or motion") instead:
- [...] you will need to create multiple new motion lighting rules.
- When you are satisfied with your Motion Lighting Rule, click Done .
