Mobile app issues (2.0.3 258) - Dashboard and geofence - Android 14

I've been having issues with the new app here lately. It was great when I first switched.

Geofence updates to in/out in the app but the hub hasn't seen those updates since 8/25.

Also I'm noticing when I'm off my wireless, I cannot get to any of my dashboards. Just a black screen with the logo then eventually it will time out and give a connection refused message.

Devices show up under devices but mostly question marks and Unsupported under them

[EDIT] No idea how I posted this in the beta section. Can someone move it please?

That happens if app and automations use different mobile device.

On the home page, does it say Hub name (cloud) or Hub name (local) when that happens?

It says Cloud on the main screen when I can't get the dashboards.

I meant to post this in the mobile apps section. No idea how I put it here accidentally.

Also helpful for others if you identify iOS or Android in the topic title

I moved it to the Android mobile app category based off of this post, but if you’re in fact using iOS just let us know.

Oddly I'm home now and on wifi, but the app still shows cloud connected

If you force close the app, does it correctly connect locally? If not, your mobile device might be connecting to a subnet, or a different network than your hub.

Just double checked. Still shows cloud.

My phone is in the same subnet as the hub. I can pull it up by ip in a browser. If I click on the hub in the app then connect to hub it pulls it right up.

No VPNs are connected or anything either.

So yesterday on my way to work my phone updated to away for the first time in days. However when I got back home it never switched back to present.

This morning trying to get it to update I toggled my wifi off, then back on and it instantly updated to present.

Not sure what hidden logic is in the new app, but reminds me of the setting in the old app to verify presence on network change.

Still no matter what I do, I only ever see it connected as cloud when I'm on my home network.

Phone an hub are 100% on the same network. I can ping my phone from the hub, and traceroute shows no hops in between. I can also ping the hub from my phone as well.

It looks like the latest Android app is having problems talking to the hub. I got the prompt to select a hub (I have two) and when I choose the C8 running 2.3.9.177 nothing happens and the "Saving selected hub..." dialog never disappears.

2024-09-07 23:20:42.372 22127-22127 SelectHubActivity com.hubitat.mobile E io.ktor.serialization.JsonConvertException: Illegal input: Expected start of the object '{', but had 'EOF' instead at path: $
JSON input: No response from hub

This in on a Pixel 9 Pro XL running Android 14 and I am actually connected via WiFi to the same network as the hub, which I can access via it's IP address.
Possibly some incompatibility between the new Android app and the latest C8 firmware?
Actually I thought...when in doubt try a reboot... and this seems to have fixed my issue and lets me access the dashboard over 4G (which was the inital point where I got the select dialog).
