I'm new here and moving from SmartThings to Hubitat. I've moved a few lights, contact sensors and outlets over and have some automations working well. Everything has been going well but I'm struggling with the mobile app on my iphone and ipad.
When I go into the app I'm getting the error message "Error Timed out waiting for mobile app devices" if I ok the message I have the button to "Create New Device". Selecting this takes me settings, I select "select hub" and go back to the "Error Timed out ...." message. I never ending spiral.
I can navigate from setting to the other pages in the app (Geo fence, tools, etc) but my dashboard shows "no response from hub"
When I connect to the hub locally and go to app and select the dashboard (very simple just one light bulb tile) the local LAN link works but the cloud link does not, I get the same "No response from hub".
I've been going in circles for hours and am lost. I can't work out if I have some cloud connection issues and/or my mobile app is not set up correct on either of my devices?
Any help would be greatly appreciated ... I'm going to get a cocktail!
Sounds like the hub cannot connect to the Hubitat cloud server. If you went into the network settings and set a static IP on the hub, reset it back to DHCP and then try again. That is most often the reason for this problem.
It is better to reserve an IP on the router instead of setting it on the hub unless you know what you are doing with static IP and DNS settings. Also sometimes the DNS settings don't take on the static IP settings and you have to set it again for it to take.
Its been a reoccurring theme recently. All sorts of random things all lead back to setting the static IP wrong. Itโs about a 50/50 chance thatโs the problem recently.
