I have a Kwikset 914 Zigbee HA3.0 lock installed. I'd like to add a couple of the same that are Zigbee HA1.2 at a substantially reduced price. Any good reason not to?
I have the 912 with the non-3.0 Zigbee module and it works great. Assume 914 has the same? If so then I think you are good to go..
edit: the 914 looks like a nice lock!
I have a couple 914s and a couple 916s. The 914s are easily my wife’s favorite, due to the buttons. The only concern would be if the numbers started to wear, exposing your code. Also, neither has any type of weather seal where the door and lock meet, which I fixed with some clear DAP 3.0 (my favorite). In 1.5 years they have never missed a command. Zigbee 1.2 btw, not that I can imagine an end device making any difference in this regard.
No reason not to. I have a mixed zigbee 3.0 and zha 1.2 network that works without any issues. Spec-compliant zigbee 3.0 devices fall back to zha 1.2 when paired to a zha 1.2 controller, like Hubitat.
Thanks all for the feedback. I'll snag the deal on the HA1.2 units.
