When discovering the device a popup window asks to select the security type and defaults to Security 2 - Class 0. The next window asks to enter the first 5 digits from the product label but has no field to enter the information. Clicking Ok shows device and initializing but that is as far as it will go.
"Security 2 Class 0" is "unauthenticated." Read more closely, and you should see that it's asking you to confirm that the first five digits match, not to enter them. (It does indeed ask for them with higher classes, so if you're used to seeing it that way, this can be confusing.)
However, it sounds like you have a problem here regardless: the device should finish "initializing," assuming you did hit OK. There is some general troubleshooting you can do, which you can probably find elsewhere here too, but to start you might want to try:
- Checking Settings > Z-Wave Details for any "ghost nodes," i.e., nodes that didn't fully add, as blank "in:, out:" in the "Clusters" column would indicate. Hitting "Remove" here may help if it works, but otherwise you might need to "Refresh" then wait for "Remove" to appear. "Remove" will not appear if Hubitat can still ping the device, so make sure it's reset, offline, or otherwise not available.
- Shut down the hub (Settings > Shut Down), remove power for at least 30 seconds or so (many people recommend unplugging the wall and not the hub side due to how fragile the connector may be), then restart. The idea is to drain residual power from the Z-Wave radio to totally shut it down, which a normal restart will not do. (A recent update should prevent the need to do this, but it can't hurt to try once.)
- Make sure you don't have a "bad" Z-Wave network: repeaters between your device and the hub (or just being close to the hub) may help if so.
- Consider trying without security, i.e, all S2 and S0 boxes unchecked, unless you really care to securely include this node. It should theoretically work either way, but if you don't care...
Found some things out.
- Security 2 - Class 0 is the correct setting
- The reason there is no field to enter the label number is because no number needs to be entered (very confusing)
- A firmware update stopped the initialization issue

I found that confusing the first time I saw it. I thought it was asking me for the digits but there was no place to put them.
