I have all zigbee devices. It took some doing to get a few of my contact sensors to work with the C7, but I got them working. Saw that the C8 has extenal antennas and figured maybe this will be a positive upgrade. I couldn't be more wrong. Sensors don't detect with the generic drivers, but detect as the wrong device types and drivers with c8. Sometimes changing the device settings makes them work, most often not. 10 hours later of troubleshooting and I want to flush the c8. Did they lose their zigbee guy? I'm not new to zigbee, I used to deal with the modules for ICS 15 years ago and didn't have nearly this bad of an experience. Tried to go back to the C7, and it mostly works, but I really don't want to go back. Any pointers, or did everyone just send the C8 back?
In this case, set the driver to the correct one and then reset the device and pair it again. Do not delete the device from HE, when you pair it again it will drop right into the same spot and configure properly under the corrected driver.
Pair it using the correct driver and type, or do manual add again?
Without deleting it, regardless of how I try to pair, it doesn't see the device to pair. I can see the device LED showing its ready to pair, but nothing happens on the hub.
If the device has already been paired and created a device entry in the list, set the driver on there correctly. Factory reset the device (which puts most right into pairing mode) and Then do Add device manually: Zigbee. If the hub finds the device it will say something like "found existing device" and pair it into the same DNI/Device, running the configure from the driver you selected.
If the device wont pair at all, that is whole other story. There are all sorts of various issues with specific devices and repeaters but I do not have a whole lot of zigbee stuff and it all works fine so I am not well versed in those issues.
Might be good to know what brand and device the OP has.
Three different brand zigbee contact sensors...worked on c7 as "generic".

Ok I did get it working.
- Manually add zigbee and let it pick the wrong type and driver.
- Change the device to the correct type and driver
- Reset the device, repair
- Open the device, click "configure", click "save device"
- click "refresh", click "save device"
And it seems to work. i didnt realize that configure and refresh were TOGGLES until I tried this stuff on my phone and they stayed grey after clicking. The browser version DOES NOT do this.
They are not on/off toggles, they are command buttons. You click the button and it does something. Click it again it does the same thing again. There are some glitches going on with the UI right now when you click the buttons (visual feedback) but the commands still work. Its being worked on in the Beta version.
Ok. I saw them show in the logs immediately upon clicking, but they didn't seem to do anything unless I saved. Maybe its just some timing thing.
