migrated my hub over to the new c7 one but all the rules and everything are still on the c5....do i literally just pause/remove everything from the c5 now?
When I added a 2nd hub, I exported rules to my computer then imported to the new hub. I was prompted to select the devices to replace from original rules. Worked really good.

i have but still doesnt say what to do with the old hub settings
turn off the old hub
