Migrate - Or Not

I have two hubs. One is a C5 that now controls the devices in my house and seems to work just fine. The other is a brand new C7. One of the two will find its way to an outbuilding where I have my shop. The issue is which. Option #1 is to migrate the C5 to the C7, then reset it and use it in the outbuilding. Option #2 is to use the C7 in the outbuilding.

The house has many more devices and is bigger. Is there enough benefit to having the C7 there to justify the effort to "migrate"?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike M

If the C5 is solid, I would leave it. Deploy the C7 to the outbuilding. Upgrade the C5 in the future when the next upgrade rolls out.

150 plus devices later I am very happy I moved the 5 to my outbuilding and migrated to the 7 for the house. Don't get me wrong there where several instances on my part of lack of patience but the end result is that I am very happy with the new setup.

A consideration is that power monitoring devices seem to have issues on a C-7, but not on a C-5. If you have more than one or two power monitoring devices on the C-5, they could cause pain on the C-7.
