Curious, has anyone successful found or added a Midea AC unit to their hub? I don't see it official listed but wondered if maybe anyone has made or scene an integration into their cloud API. Thanks!
I havenโt seen one. There a couple of projects on GitHub that provide an interpretation of an api.
In Ruby:
In Python:
Neither of these is a HE Device driver. They are a start for someone who wants to do the development work. It would also require running the ruby/python code on a separate machine (rpi?).
Thanks! I'll check them out. I just have the one window AC unit for the bedroom I like to use in the summer time here in GA (I like it cold at night way cheaper to cool one room than the whole house overnight lol) so isn't a big deal.
Sadly, I'm not much of a dev guy (Im a Sr. Network / Inforstruction Engineer) so I spend most of time locked in a cold cage at the data center xD But I have plenty of Pis and pretty good at testing things if something should come out that would require another machine to be sit in the middle.
Youโre welcome. I have one of those A/C units too. We used it in our last home, but I never got to the point of automating it through HE before we sold the house.
I too work in a DC. I manage one for a major university system.
Maybe use an IR device instead, might be easier (like the excellent tiny Broadlink RM mini 3 etc)? I'm using Sensibo controllers on my AC's which work well, but they are quite pricey.
