Micro Power Outage

This really has no relevance to anything, but it is The Lounge.

So, at some point last night, I noticed the overhead fan stopped working.

What the heck, I thought I removed that switch from the All Off, good night rule.

Then, in the morning, I noticed the weather stations' displays, (with backup batteries intentionally removed), had reverted to rain event rather than pressure. Software update?

No clocks digital clocks were blinking, even the usually fairly-sensitive microwave.

I finally came up with the micro power outage theory. My switches are set to 'off' upon resumption of power after an outage.

I just had the idea of checking the chime siren, my one battery backed-up device. Sure enough, two seconds, reported.

A lot of stuff has now got some capacitive or whatever backup for short duration power interruptions. But my older microwave, and vintage Thermador built in oven, don't have much.

Anyway, hopefully it's not some new tech the old utility is rolling out along with the 'smart' meters, lol.

That's all. LOL.
