MHCOZY 1 Channel 5V 12V ZigBee Smart Relay is chatty!

I am using this device to voice automate my whole-home vacuum cleaner. But it is very chatty. About 1700 messages a day, without any use. I'm using the generic zigbee switch driver.

Log entry:
2024-05-21 09:46:46.873 PMdebugdescMap: [raw:AD0D0100060800001000, dni:AD0D, endpoint:01, cluster:0006, size:08, attrId:0000, encoding:10, command:0A, value:00, clusterInt:6, attrInt:0]

Any suggestions on how to cut down the chatter?

Turn off debug logging?

What driver are you using?

Debug is off. But....Zigbee details page lists >1700 messages. The most of any of my zigbee devices.
Using generic Zigbee switch driver.

Maybe try the generic zigbee multi-channel relay driver?

Are you sure? Your log snippet appears to be a debug log entry.

I turned it on just to grab the log entry. I thought it might help here. Not sure why the Zigbee details page lists >1700 messages though.
I'll try the multi-channel relay driver.

There are several different devices from different manufacturers sold under the white label ‘MCHOZY’ - what is yours (the Zigbee model and manufacturer as shown at the bottom of the device web page) ?

OK, it is all clear now...

There is an ongoing contest - who will make more chatty and more spammy Zigbee devices.

Currently, the winner :trophy: is Tuya with their extremely chatty CO2 'multi' -sensors and the infamious 5.8GHz radars, where they managed to send more then one unnecesery Zigbee message every single second!

However, SONOFF (eWeLink) are working very hard to make their Zigbee devices even more spammy!

If you think this is a joke - read this post :

So is my vacuum cleaner switch device "too" chatty? It almost never gets used, but my wife likes the convenience. Use a different device? Or just ignore the message count at around 2K and move on?

Simply ignore the messages count and move on. 2K Zigbee messages per day can not affect a healthy Zigbee network.
