Mesh switch in device settings

Basic newbie question here.
The Hub Mesh enabled switch in the device settings is only used if you want the device to be part of a mesh network with 2 or more hubs, correct?

Just want to verify this switch has nothing to do with Zigbee devices communicating with each other to pass data on to each other, Correct?
