Planning some naming conventions for my rules. To be forewarned, what is the maximum length of string for the name, and what characters should be avoided?
I don't know what the actual limit is but I know that it's more than what can physically fit on your screen, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. And as far as characters, nope. You can use whatever you want. You can even use emoji if you want to.

I haven't found a limit but I just try to keep them in a sentence of what they do and an emoji of the device type. If you include an emoji in the device names it will automatically put it in the rule name for any of the apps that automatically create a name for you. Emoji's are annoying if you port them over to google home because it will speak the name of the emoji so I remove the emoji's from the device names in the google home app.
