Matter bridge devices unresponsive since 11 Nov 2025

I am hoping this is the right place to raise this issue. If not, please point me in the right direction.
Since the last couple of updates, possibly since update 2.4.3.155, homekit matter devices are unresponsive. Plus I am unable to add matter devices once removed.

For some reason two devices still show as active and can be controlled via hubitat. All other lights work via homekit, but not through Hubitat.
One observation from the matter details page is that the devices working show an IPv6 ip address, while others that are not working are showing blank for the IP.
Disabling and reenabling matter on Hubitat momentarily and falsely shows ticks in the status column against all matter devices. Refreshing the browser, reverts back the status to as shown in the screenshot. Rebooting all homepods used for homekit makes no difference. All automations for unresponsive devices show failure to control from 11 Nov onwards. C7 is always kept upgraded to the latest version as soon as they are available. So, I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue and if it is related to any recent updates released.

Have you removed power to the individual devices themselves? Such as one of the lights have you taken it out, waited about 30 seconds and reinstalled it?

I have a plug that sometimes will do the same thing. Still controllable in Home Assistant but not in Hubitat. Shows the red X as well. Nothing in Hubitat will resolve it. I unplug it. Wait about 30 seconds. Plug it back in. When it reconnects to my network it will now work again in Hubitat. Happens about twice a year.

Are these Matter over Thread or Matter over WiFi devices?

What make and model are these devices?

Have you tried rebooting all of your network hardware?

Nitpick: You mention HomeKit in your post. However, it sounds like you’re referring to Apple Home, correct? Apple has renamed their home automation platform from Apple HomeKit to Apple Home over the past year or so, to help avoid confusion with their original communication protocol called HomeKit. It sounds like the devices you’re using are using Matter for their protocol.

That is a good tip and I will try it. My devices are sitting behind the wall switches, so I will need to power off all my lighting at the distribution board for 30 seconds and see if that resolves it. Will try that and report back.

These are matter over thread dimmers.

I have not tried rebooting the dimmers or my routers only Apply Homepods as the devices are connected to Apple Home. I will give that a go and report back.

And yes, thanks for correcting me, I meant Apple Home.

Those being matter over thread cutting power may not have the same results I honestly don't know but it would be worth a shot. Something relatively easy to try.

@LearningHubitat and @ogiewon,

Thanks heaps for your suggestions. The issue seems to have been resolved.

As suggested, I removed power for the devices by switching off all my lights at the distribution board and turning them back on after 30 seconds.

The result was as per the image below with all devices showing as active and ip addresses filled in:

That said, when I tried to control the lights, there was still no response and matter details showed crosses against the two lights I tried as per the image below:

I then rebooted the hub and left for work.

I have now tried it and everything seems to be working as expected. So somewhere between powercycling the device and rebooting hubitat, the issue seems to have fixed itself.

Thanks again. Greatly appreciated.

Not sure what the fix was but the main thing is you are up and going again.
