Lux KONOz not working

I recently purchased a Lux KONOz thermostat and I can't get it to work with Hubitat. I can get it to initially connect to my hub but after it is connected I can not send or receive any changed values.

Things I have tried to get this thermostat working

  1. Repair the thermostat to my hub.
  2. Change the device type from 'Lux Zigbee Thermostat' to 'Generic Zigbee Thermostat'
  3. Do a factory reset of the thermostat and reconnect to my hub.

None of these have fixed my issue.

I have other Zigbee devices, Hue lights, and I have had no issue with them.

Has anybody had any success getting a Lux KONOz thermostat to work? It is listed as a supported device. Could my thermostat be defected?

I have one, works great! Did you select configure and refresh after pairing? I've had some devices act up until I do that. You definitely should be using the dedicated driver not the generic one.

I tried refresh before, Just tried configure and refresh now and the only thing it does is prints configure or refresh in the device log, nothing in the zigbee log and no updates.

What other zigbee devices do you have paired to hubitat?

I have two Hue lightbulbs that are working with no issues.

Try unplugging them, ie no power whatsoever, pull the thermostat off the wall, pull the batteries, put the batteries back in and put the thermostat back on the wall and see what happens after you do a few set point changes on the thermostat...

After spamming configure and refresh, a break for dinner, and some cursing at technology everything seems to be working now. Not sure what did it. Thanks for all your help.

What Mike was saying is that having your hue bulbs directly connected to your HE instead of through the hue bridge is probably going to cause issues with any other zigbee devices you add since they are horrible repeaters. Next time you add a zigbee device you will probably find it beneficial to disconnect the hues from power before trying to pair.

Thermostat was back to not getting updates today.

Removing power from my hue lights has returned the thermostat to working order.

Is there anyway with zigbee to force my thermostat to connect directly, or my hues to not be repeaters? Would be a better solution than picking up a hue bridge or new lights.

Unfortunatly, that's a no and a no.
You should be able to fetch a v1 hue bridge for cheap. You also could try adding a legit zigbee repeater to your mesh and your thermost may decide to use it as a router vs the bulbs but there's no way to force it to do so.
Other options include running your zigbee bulbs on a separate Hubitat, or replacing the hues with sengled bulbs which do not provide any routing functions.

I have a few questions.

Is the schedule set on the thermostat itself? Meaning you don't need to use HE thermostat scheduling app?

Lastly, is there not an option for away mode? Or do you create a dedicated schedule called away mode and just tell HE to tell the thermostat to go into away mode?

This is NOT a "smart" thermostat per se, you need to set up any automation using either RM or HE's thermostat app.

@mike.maxwell

Sorry I didn't discover this sooner, it appears that the the google home integration with this thermostat may not be working 100%.

While the google home app does sync with the thermostats setpoint it doesn't appear that the setpoint can be set with the google home app or from a device.

If I set the heating setpoint in the google home app it doesn't register in HE or on the thermostat, if I set it via a google home device, google acknowledges it but it doesn't register in HE or on the device.

what about when setting it from the driver?, is all of that working?

Yes, I can control the thermostat setpoint from the Driver/RM/Thermostat Scheduler/Dashboard, just not from the Google Assistant (Home) integration.

Any update on the GA integration?
