Can anyone confirm if it's safe to install batteries in Lux Kono thermostats along with using a c-wire. Many thermostats allow this as a "backup" scenario, but I can't seem to find anything stating this definitively.
I'm not sure, but I did install batteries in mine. The KonoZ reports a battery level of 0 if batteries are not installed.
funny, that's why I was asking. Seeing 0 battery level is messing with my OCD. Would be nice if a preference could be added to select power source. @mike.maxwell
I donβt know any thermostat that permits this.
Usually, when paired while powered by battery, they will pair as a non-repeating end-device. And pair as a repeater/router when paired while powered by C-wire.
My KonoZ (Zigbee model) doesn't pair as a repeater when connected with c-wire. But I know the honeywell zwave model I was using previously did.
