Hello new to Hubitat, just installed the lutron inigrator and have my wall switches working but can't get the plug in dimmers switches to work. When I added them I added them as a dimmer is this correct?
Yes, that is correct. Make sure you can control them from the Lutron app. Then see if you can control them from the device page in Hubitat.
I must have done something wrong they do work from the device app and they can also control them through the SmartThings at but I cannot control them through habitat.
It shows up as a Lutron Dimmer so on the Devices page it looks the same as a wall mounted dimmer.
Silly question: You did add it to the Lutron Integrator in Hubitat after you added it to the Lutron system, correct? It should be a code "d" in the configuration list. As Bruce said, first thing to check is that you can see it and control it from the Lutron app.
You are in uncharted territory as far as I am concerned. I didn't have Lutron when I had SmartThings so I have never tried integrating it with both SmartThings and Hubitat.
Just to confirm, you have a Lutron Caseta Pro bridge and you have the Telnet Support turned on (checked) under the advanced settings in the Lutron app on your phone? Just checking because SmartThings didn't require the Caseta Pro bridge because it used the cloud connection . . .
Yes I am using a Lutron Pro bridge and telenet is on. The switches that I have installed in walls that are dimmers work the ones that are the plug-in ones for lamps I cannot get working
Sorry for all the questions - I didn't know your "history".
There shouldn't be any trick to getting those working, once added to the Lutron Integration in Hubitat they should show up on the device page as a Lutron Dimmer.
My plug in dimmer is the device called "Living Room Table Lamps". In this shot you can also see the two devices created by the Lutron Integration for the Telnet interface to my two Lutron Caseta Pro bridges.
I will have to table the conversation for now I have to go to work but I will try to play with it on my next day off and see what I get
Understand. Good luck! Let us know what you learn.
Real quick I have three lutron caseta in wall dimmers and 3 plug in dimmers, with plans on adding at least 3 more in wall dimmer switches. When I added everything I added the in wall ones as switches and they work bit now realize that they should be dimmers as well. I assume I am correct in that assumption.
If it's a switch (two buttons) it should be an "s" in the integration list, if it's a dimmer (whether wall mounted or plug-in) it should be a "d" in the integration list.
I have never tried putting them in as "incorrect" devices so I don't know how they react!
I was going to suggest to check the syntax of the entries on the integration list - I believe the Integration app is fairly picky and if the syntax is wrong, it may ignore that device. I know it's important to NOT have spaces after the commas . . .
I have one of these plugin wall dimmers to act as a repeater for my lutron cadets system. It definitely is in fact a dimmer. It is working good in my setup. No issues. I can turn it in and off and set level successfully.
I have 2, both work fine as dimmers.
Hello everyone, so I got everything working except one plug in dimmer, the dimmer does work when using the lutron app but nothing from the hubitat. The only thing I can figure out is that I have a Pico remote configured through lutron to that dimmer and when I look at integration report the other pico's identify as pico's except this particular one. I renamed it as a Pico in the lutron app but still cannot get it to work. By the way the hue app worked perfect!
Now there is one other problem I am encountering with the dashboard app. I selected all the devices I want listed but a few of them are still not showing up on the dashboard. For instance I have 2 hue lights tied together, individually they are called China closet 1 and China closet 2, but only one shows up even though I have both checked as being enabled on the dashboard.
The Pico should not have anything to do with whether you can use the dimmer from Hubitat.
Is the dimmer showing up as a device in the device list on Hubitat?
If so, as Bruce suggested, check whether you can control it from the device page in Hubitat.
I think I will try unpairing it in the lutron app and reattaching it again, as it was the only one that I had to pair a second time before it worked and see if that works even though it works through the lutron app.
Any ideas on the dashboard issue?
It is showing as a device in hubitat but I can't control it from hubitat even on the device page.
Another possibly stupid question - is it possible you have TWO instances of that dimmer in Hubitat?
When I was messing around with the Lutron integration I ended up making two instances of several of my dimmers. Only one of them would actually work. I think any duplicate would have the same Lutron device number . . .
