Hey guys... been reading a bunch for the past 24 hours. Just got my Hubitat yesterday. I'm jumping head first into the HA foray and am pretty technical.
With that said, the SmartBridge Pro is installed. The Lutron app is successfully turning on the kitchen lights with the Lutron app. I have added the controller to Hubitat with a static IP and assigned the ID from the integrations email in my Lutron app. I've given it a name. Now when I try to turn it on, nothing happens. I've also enabled telnet.
Any ideas? I'm a complete noob so I'm sure it's something simple. I've went in and have removed and reinstalled the controller and devices from Hubitat about a thousand times now. I've also rebooted the Lutron bridge.
The logs show successful telnet established and the dimmer logs show that I've been turning them on and off, raising levels up and down... but no lights are working...
Ideas?
Go into the devices page (specifically one of the Lutron lights you added) in the center of the screen you’ll see ON/OFF/REFRESH and other buttons. in the upper right corner it will show the status of the switch. Chances are the state reported doesn’t match the current light state (on or off). Hit the refresh button and then it should match. Then the on and off and dim buttons should work.
First thing, let's see if your Hubitat hub is receiving data via Telnet from your SmartBridge Pro...
Open up your list of devices, and find your 'Lutron Telnet' device. Then enable the Debug Logging and click SAVE.
Next, open a new browser tab for the Live Logs, and then physically turn the Lutron Caseta dimmer on and off, do you see any activity in the Live Logs? It should look something like the following:
Based on your OP and your logs it seems like
- you've confirmed that the Lutron Bridge can communicate with the lights
- HE is communicating with the smartbridge
So everything "should be working" . How are you trying to control the lights from Hubitat? Using an app or from the device page? I would recommend you keep the logs open. Then from another tab, open the Lutron dimmer device page and hit the On button. Let us know what you see in the logs. You should see logs from both the Lutron Telnet device and the Lutron Dimmer. You may have to turn on debug logging on the dimmer device as well.
Just from the device page. Here's something I'm curious about... what about the state variable, "wait: true"? Would that have anything to do with anything?

Here's the logs:
I got it working. I set the ID of the zone, NOT of the device ID. It then worked.
Which makes no sense to me. Shouldn't you be able to control a device independent of the zone? The zone in this case is Kitchen. There's only one Lutron switch in there -- ID3
I know this is super old, but I have the same issue. I have 4 of the pluggable dimmers, and one is not working. Specifically, one is not providing any states or changes. The only difference between the working ones and the one that is not working, is the one non-working one has a "state:wait." I can turn on/off the device from the Lutron, Google Home, Hubitat, and physically, but I get no updates in Hubitat. It cannot be used in a rule because its state is reporting "NULL." I have deleted the device everywhere, and added it back, and the "state:wait" is still there. Any suggestions?
Is this a Caséta device? Are you using a SmartBridge PRO? Have you setup the Lutron Integration?
Yes this is Lutron caseta. I have something like 53 devices working with the Smart bridge pro 2 and a telnet integration with Hubitat elevation c7. I have four plugged in dimmers. Three work great. One receives commands perfectly, but never gives any updates. The one that doesn't give updates is in the state of "wait."
Here's something you could do that might work. If you have that device in any apps, temporarily replace it in those apps with some dummy device, just as a placeholder. Then from the device page for that device, remove it (you can see that you got all uses in the In Use By section at the bottom of the page). Next, open the Lutron Integration app and hit Done. This will recreate the device. Finally, replace all of the placeholder devices with the new version of the original device (new one will have same name as before, nothing will have changed, just got rid of the potentially bad instance)..
This will give you a new instance of the device, and it should work. Please let me know if this solves your problem. I'd be happy to help further if needed -- tomorrow...
Did as you suggested. No Joy. The logs show the device installed and updates very quickly to show changes that I make through the Lutron app:

But on the device tab there shows no "current states" and it is in status "wait":
It is Lutron Device 46.
OK, I figured it out. It was my error. I had two devices listed as the same Lutron Caseta device ID:
d,46,Downstairs Hallway Sconce One and Hall Tree
s,46,Stairwell Closet
For others experiencing these symptoms, check that you didn't do something similar.
I had my devices in the Lutron Integrator sorted by room. I have now changed to sort by device number, and I would suggest that this is best practice.
A nice to have app improvement would be a warning that there are duplicate device IDs. @bravenel, thanks for the help.
