(Hmm, It is not letting me put images in posts)
I think you have to make a post or two before it lets you put in an image. May be something else but I remember I had to do something like that.
That makes sense. I am new to the community. I will try to host it somewhere if that helps figure out what is the issue. But overall, the screenshot looked like csteele's with buttons and "Current states level 100.0 switch off" off to the right
@mcollins354, welcome to the forums BTW. You will find extremely helpful folks here. Folks way smarter than I. I am fairly confident you will get your issue resolved in short order.
Scott
This is what mine looks like. When you put a button number in the Push box and click it, it should show what button number on the right hand side. Are you saying yours is not doing that?
NVM, I see you have a dimmer not a pico. I currently don't have dimmers installed.
Thanks Scott, yeah I have a dimmer. So where you have "Hold, Push, Release" I have "Flash, Off, On, Refresh, Set Level, Start Level Change, Stop Level change"
So when you click on On, the button state on the right does not change? One thing to do is make sure you have a static IP address to the Lutron Pro Bridge.
One other thing too. Go into the Lutron App. Settings->Advanced and make sure Telnet Support is checked. It is off by default. This allows HE to talk to the bridge.
Thanks and yes, the "Current States" will switch to "on" or "off" and even the "Events" will log the change, but nothing changes with the light bulb. I can still turn it on or off using the Lutron app, but just not the Hubitat dashboard.
I do have Telnet Support checked. And although I don't have the static IP set up yet, I was going to do that in just a bit, once I tested out the first dimmer and made sure it is working.
So you can physically turn on and off the bulb using the On/Off buttons in the device page as well as the Lutron App?
You just can't make it work from the Dashboard? What device template are you using in the Dashboard?
I can only turn it on or off using the Lutron App or the actual dimmer. I can't get anything in Hubitat to turn it on or off (using either the dashboard or the "Devices" page). Sorry I didn't make that clear
Open another browser tab and open the Logs in it. Go back to the device details page and try to turn on the light and see if you are getting any errors in the Logs.
Also, on the dashboard tile, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner and click on History. Does it show any activity in there?
You should have "Lutron Telnet" in your devices list:
Right click on Logs in the Left menu and click Open in New Tab.
Then on the original tab, open the Lutron Telnet device and click Initialize... over on the live logs tab you should see:
dev:737 2019-04-27 12:26:26.218 pm info Telnet connection to Lutron interface established
Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that
I think that could be it: I am getting the following errors:
2019-04-27 03:30:03.458 pm [error]Telnet connect failed, trying again in 60 seconds...
2019-04-27 03:30:03.451 pm [debug] getReTry- reTryCount:3
2019-04-27 03:30:03.445 pm [debug] initialize error: connect timed out
Does the IP address in the Lutron Telnet parameters match what IP Address you have on the bridge?
Go into the Lutron App network settings and make sure they all match.
Implication is, you don't have Telnet enabled.
Do you have a telnet client?? Go ahead and telnet to the SmartBridgePRO and verify you get prompted for --> login:
You don't actually have to login, just verify it's enabled.
Hmm, yeah, they do match. I am looking at the Lutron App under Advanced, and checking the Network settings. Then, I go to "Devices" and click on Lutron Telnet and looking under "Preferences" for the IP address. .
I also tried deleting everything and starting over. added everything, but still getting the error above on the logging. "Telnet failed to connect, trying again in 60 seconds." Any thoughts? I don't have any fancy set up at home. Just a wired Windows desktop plugged into the same router as the Hubitat and Lutron Smart Bridge. You are right though that something here is not connecting. Thanks for your patience with me on this.
In the Lutron App..

Telnet Support is ON?
If you have a telnet client, you can:
$ telnet 192.168.0.67
Trying 192.168.0.67...
Connected to 192.168.0.67.
Escape character is '^]'.
login: lutron
password: integration
GNET> ^]
telnet> quit
Connection closed.
You do not need to do all of this to test, you can simply verify that "login:" appears.
Yep. I just checked it again and it is checked
