Looking for zigbee/zigbee 3 extender

Hi all,

I'm looking for zigbee/zigbee 3 extender.
Are you familiar with a device that extends both protocols and suitable for Israeli wall socket?

get the tuya USB Zigbee repeater. It plugs into any any USB charger, supports Zigbee 3.0 and is backward compatible with Zigbee, not Including IRIS V1 devices. Iris V1 are no longer supported by the C8 hub as well.

Is it supported by Hubitat?
Is there a driver?

Hubitat does not support any devices outside of their own hubs.

The Tuya repeater is not on Hubitat’s list of compatible devices. However it works well with Hubitat.

And repeaters don’t need a driver to function as a repeater at the zigbee radio level.

Are you sure it's zigbee 3 compatible?
It doesn't mention in the link.

It is. Here’s another ad for the same thing:

Also if available to you, sengled zigbee outlets make great repeaters.

I still do not understand why anybody buys dedicated repeaters. You can just buy a plug or just about any mains powered zigbee device and get double duty out of it. Personally I prefer plugs, if i have no actual use for it other then as a repeater, I plug in one of those air freshener plugs and create a routine. You'd be surprised how long they last if they actually shut off when nobody is home.

Everybody doesn't want a plug/wall-wart sitting on their walls (WAF on those is very low in my house), everyone doesn't want/need to use a freshener, etc. Basically, everyone doesn't feel exactly like you.

I understand that but likely the usb repeater has to be plugged into something as well.

I had a few of these plugged into in-wall USB outlets, and a couple plugged into the back of TVs.

Very inconspicuous and they work very well; my tests with zigbee2mqtt indicated these to function as better repeaters/routers than zigbee outlets from Third Reality, Sengled, eWeLink, Ikea, and Innr. The other big advantage is that no one removed them.

Yes definitely. But they are quite tiny, and since they only repeat you don't have to worry about where you place them. I use them with these tiny plugs.

I can only say that in my case these have significantly higher WAF than the repeating plugs I used to have in their spots. As in most anything we do around here, YMMV. :slightly_smiling_face:

I use the Tuya with great success and I prefer them not in a wall switch/combo as my boxes are all steel; I get better coverage as a small wall wart.
My Tuya's talk nicely to my garage though a steel door 20M away.
