Looking for some general best practices

Hi Everyone,
I'm fairly new to ZWave and Hubitat. I've just completed installing the last of my devices (approx 60 Inovelli switches, 3 locks, about a dozen motion/door sensors, and integration with some non-zwave devices like Google Home, Kasa, etc.

When joining the switches, I accepted the default security (mainly because it said something like don't change the default unless you know what you are doing) which paired them as S2. I've found that most of my simple automations work (pantry door opens, turn on the light... mudroom senses movement, turn one the light... etc), but when I slam it with something much larger (like my nighttime button routine that turns off all 60 switches, locks doors, mutes google homes, etc)... it never seems to get to the end... It will kick off the commands, then eventually stop (randomly at a different device each time). I've tried a similar rule with Rule Machine, Basic Rules, and Simple Automation Rules... all with the same kind of issues.

So I guess I have 2 questions... could the overhead of S2 Auth be too much for a large command? If not... should I be chopping the command into several smaller bits to process? Should I look at a 2nd Hubitat to split the load?

Many Thanks,

Do you have the devices in a group? Or are you adding the all individually to the rules?

Also how long has the mesh had to settle? When did you finish the installation?

I've had similar issues. I use a few delays in the flow to allow a bit of time for the mesh to unchoke. I do use groups, but my lighting devices are Zigbee and this allows optimisation of the broadcast to be made to reduce the traffic/load on the mesh too. Not sure if Z-Wave provides that benefit.

OMG... where have groups been hiding?!?!

Things are executing so much faster and more reliably now.

Many Thanks Borris and Angus!!!
