Looking for a simple switch / dimmer driver to use for first driver effort

Hi,

Can anyone point me to a simple dimmer switch driver I can use to learn with?

I've read much of the Smarthings documentation and want to start to write a driver. I have a GoLinear WD500Z-1 switch I am not using and felt it would a good place to start. I was hoping I could find a minimal capability switch / dimmer driver to use as a starting point. Any help would be very much appreciated.
