I used to geofence with long range BT transmitters in my cars. It worked well, but it was a bit hard to write rules in HS4 because simple on/off changes didn't work well. IE - You might start to leave and then remember you forgot something, turn the car off, and need to keep that from triggering rules.
It seems like LR z-wave would be ideal for this. I'm mean one of my drivers for moving to Hubitat was the focus on all things local.
On/off would be great, but even better if you could determine signal strength and trigger built on changes verses just on/off.
