I'm new to this stuff, but looking to add this to the house I am building. I would like to have wired sensors and be able to access them all on my Hubitat hub. The Konnected board will connect to the Hubitat using Wifi, but it doesn't require an internet connection, right? Would you connect this with your same SSID that your internet is on, or should I have a separate SSID for konnected? My main reason for using this over zwave, zigbee sensors is cost and not needing to worry about batteries. Am I on the right track?
The newer versions can be connected via POe or just ethernet then they can fall back to wifi if needed.
This is how i understand it yes.
Looks like it, it is certainly what i would be doing in your situation.
Konnected is the only system like this that I am aware of. Are there other comparable/better options out there? I like the idea of not needing to worry about wireless sensors in most areas. I can always add them in later, but if I know I want sensors on most doors/windows, why would I not put them in while the walls are all open?
not that i'm aware of Konnected filled a hole in the market here.
Exactly. I did the same but before Konnected existed, luckily it's possible for me to convert to it if my setup dies.
