In the past when I've had to do a return of lithium batteries from Amazon, they gave me a credit and then told me to "dispose" of the batteries rather than actually returning them.
Thanks. I've never had to return batteries but that makes sense...part of a package of batteries is not really sellable.
OK, so I assume they snap in so they don’t touch each other even when the tray is folded.
Of course the constraint in reducing packaging for lithium batteries is they cannot be shipped or stored such that they can make contact with each other.
Yup, no consorting allowed! ![]()
I need to do a little searching to see if I can find a low-packaging bulk-pack that meets requirements.
since we've gone off on a tangent of how the batteries could/or should be packed - I have some ideas too...
a simple piece of carboard, thin plastic, or thick paper even separating them would suffice - or even a booger of rubber cement, which has dual purpose of being an insulator and adhesive to hold it in place.
This of course if they were to offer a non-child proof ver. I'm assuming part of the difficulty of the regular retail packaging is to keep the kid from getting to it to eat in the first place. Which pets dont care about and laugh at your chewproof baby plastic.
Packaging is about theft in retail as much as it is safety in handling during distribution. Small objects are stolen out of packaging in retail.
FWIW, if you are concerned about counterfeit batteries, I have used a place called Battery Junction for pretty much all my battery needs to avoid the crap on amazon, and been a satisfied customer every time.
They don’t snap in, but the tray above it keeps them from sliding out of the hole, and the tray allows them to be stacked without making contact with each other.

That seems like a lot… won’t most of them go bad by the time you get to use them?
If they are the 'knock off's' they will only last like 3 months. But if they are the real deal 10 to 20 years shelf life.
