List of domains need for Hubitat app and geo boundaries to work

For iOS and Android Hubitat app and gone boundaries to function might there be a list of required domains to allow in firewall for this to function correctly?

both the ios and android app use your devices location services to determine your location. It’s industry best practice to do it this way as it results in a better battery life for your device, consistent results, and lower cost for implementation.

You would want to consult your OS vendor for this info, as this is an OS function and may still work regardless of what domains you block, depending on your devices hardware (gps, cellular) and the OS vendors location implementation (local wifi -> gps db and/or local ISP IP -> gps db).

Which firewall are you using?

The app must also contact certain domain names or I.p to have correct functionality. This is the list I am after

What functionality are you having an issue with exactly?

As stated the current device location is fetched from the device itself, the app would not reach out to any services on its own, only the device.

Now in order to do the actual geofencing I assume it probably uses some sort of API, not sure if it hits the Hubitat cloud server or some other API.

Then it will also need to connect to the Hubitat cloud to update the presence status, but it also needs that same connection for any sort of device control, so if device control works then that is not the issue.

You best way forward is to make note of the device IP, date and time. Then try whatever actions you are having an issue with that you think the firewall is blocking. Then have IT check the firewall to see what is getting blocked from that IP and date/time.

When you launch the app on your phone what domains/i.p are required for the app to function normally I.e connect to cloud Managment view remote hub view cloud dashboards, basically all domains/i.p to function normally when away from local LAN

No idea

I would start with https://cloud.hubitat.com

This is the only way I can think of as well.

There’s no comprehensive list of published domains because this is a non-issue for almost all users.

If you’re behind a firewall that will presumptively block traffic unless it’s been whitelisted, you may have to figure out for yourself which domains you need to add to the whitelist.
