Hey all, I have had my C4 hub setup since sometime in 2018 and setup most of my automations 2018-2020. I have been lax on updates lately and found myself on 2.2.8.138.
Decided to update this week and it created some problems with my lights.
Random lights would turn on when they are not supposed to. Other motion activated lights would not turn on when motion sensed. No real pattern, almost like the lights changed assignments somehow? When you manually trigger the lights, no issue. The biggest pain is when the bedroom lights, which have never been motion controlled, turn on in the middle of the night!
Using Hue lights on Hue hub controlled through Hubitat. (Motion sensors mostly)
Good news is I was able to very easily revert back to 2.2.8.138, so i appreciate that utility. Everything seems to be back to normal.
Anyone else experience anything similar? Browsed the forums but may have missed something in the many iterations between my releases.
What I would suggest, if you want to get current, is to one by one deal with the specific apps that misbehave. Try opening any app that doesn't work as expected, check its settings, make any corrections, and hit Done. Usually that will be enough. If Motion Lighting, Groups or Scenes, you can import them into Room Lights, and then correct any setting there that isn't right. Or simply remove and redo any automation that isn't working right. I suspect you will find that this is not a huge undertaking.
Yeah, who knows what impact the changes could have had cumulatively over such a broad leap. It wouldn't be that devices changed assignments. More likely either the app simply needs to be re-initialized by opening it and hitting Done, or some specific setting changed and needs to be corrected.
Hi there. I'm new to Hubitat, having FINALLY migrated over from Wink (yeah, I know).
I got things set up easily enough on my c8, and I have some very basic rules to turn on some lights around sunset and then off at different times. Everything was working great until I updated to the newest version (2.3.5.152). Now none of the "on at sunset" rules trigger.
I can click the Activate button on the rule, and that turns things on. It also seems to have turned things off this morning. But again tonight, no lights came on.
I did a backup before updating - should I restore to that?
@rlithgow1 - thanks for the tip. I checked and everything was as expected. I even looked at the logs and saw that the sunrise/sunset times were right.
So I reverted back to 2.3.5.146 and, voila everything turned on as expected this evening.
Interesting that the "turn off at sunrise" trigger I have on my yard light worked, but the turn on rules didn't. At any rate, I am thankful it is so easy to revert back to a previous version of the hub code. Hopefully the next update doesn't cause problems for me.
