Lighting apps vs RM (possibly dumb question)

Hi,

Do the Simple or Motion Lighting apps provide anything that RM doesn't?

I've been working exclusively with RM, I'd figured the other two apps were just RM with a lot of non-lighting related stuff stripped out for simplicity or focus. Wondering if that's a correct presumption on my part.

Essentially, no. What they do is gather frequently needed things into a UI presentation. It is possible to just about anything with RM, but sometimes it takes multiple rules or triggers to accomplish everything. And sometimes disabling a rule can be tricky. Motion Lighting in particular streamlines the ability for things to be disabled or over-ridden. Motion Lighting came about because I noticed that the same set of feature needs showed up over and over when setting up motion controlled lighting. So rather than mess with multiple rules, it seemed more streamlined to collect those features into one app.

Simple Lighting is basically the same as ST SmartLighting. We call it Simple Lighting because it is only for pretty simple lighting automations.
