Hi all,
I’ve been working on a new LIFX Light Manager, and I’m looking for a few people willing to beta test it. - You can install it through Hubitat Package Manager using this private package manifest via HPM or directly from GitHub if you prefer.
This app is based on the excellent earlier work done by Rob Heyes on the original Hubitat LIFX Master integration. His work provided the foundation and reference point for local LIFX control on Hubitat. This version also incorporates updates and protocol behaviours informed by the current LIFX LAN Protocol documentation, which describes LIFX local network control using UDP/IP and binary packet messaging.
At a high level, LIFX Light Manager is intended to provide a more curated LIFX experience on Hubitat:

Cloud-assisted discovery using the LIFX Cloud API for labels, groups, products and capabilities

A curated staging table showing discovered UID, label, IP address, group, product, capabilities, driver mode and LAN discovery status

Local LAN control after child devices are created

Once the local child devices are created, they work locally without requiring Internet access

Handling for Cloud ID / LAN UID mismatches seen on some LIFX devices (MAC+1 recon)

Automatic driver selection for mono, tunable white, colour and IR-capable Plus devices

Child-device creation from a curated discovery list

IP address change detection and remediation, including highlighting devices that need to be updated

A LIFX Master Switch aggregate device for overall control of all installed LIFX lights

Fast local on/off performance for both individual lights and the master switch

Colour and colour-temperature support where the underlying device supports it

HPM-compatible installation and updates

Created child devices appear as normal Hubitat devices and can be used directly in automations, dashboards and rules
The LIFX Master Switch provides aggregate control across all installed LIFX child devices. It supports overall on/off, colour, colour temperature and level behaviour, while non-colour-capable devices fall back to level control where appropriate.
Individual child devices expose normal Hubitat switch, level, colour and colour-temperature controls depending on the detected LIFX device type.
The intent is not to replace the original work without acknowledgement. This is a derivative / reworked implementation that builds on the concepts from Rob Heyes’ LIFX Master app while adding cloud-assisted discovery, curated child creation, IP remediation and a simplified management workflow.
Beta status
This is an early beta release: B1.0.
It works reliably in my own environment, but I’d like feedback from others with different LIFX device mixes, especially:

Larger LIFX installs

Hubitat rules that control multiple LIFX lights at once
Important notes
You will need a LIFX Cloud token for discovery/enrichment. The cloud is only used to retrieve labels, groups, product metadata and capabilities so the app can build an accurate curated device list. Once the local child devices are created, control is local over the LAN and does not require Internet access.
This beta does not yet aim to fully support every advanced LIFX capability such as Tiles, Beams, multizone effects or advanced waveforms. The current focus is reliable discovery, correct child-device creation, local control, fast on/off performance and practical day-to-day Hubitat automation.
I’d appreciate any testing, bug reports or feedback, especially screenshots/logs where discovery, driver allocation, IP remediation or Master Switch behaviour does not work as expected.
