LifX Ceiling Light Error

There is an unclear error when attempting to add this ceiling light via the built-in LifX integration.

com.hubitat.app.exception.UnknownDeviceTypeException: Device type 'LIFX Color' in namespace 'hubitat' not found on line 56 (method mainPage)

This is the 15" ceiling light unit with black trim. Any assistance with getting the built-in integration to work would be lovely.

Turns out that my hub was actually horribly out-of-date, and the lights are now connected. At this time, though, is anyone able to provide insight on if the downlight and uplight are able to be controlled separately?

Only through the LIFX app can they be controlled separately as this behavior is consistent with how it is integrated into other systems. If you look in Reddit, the upper light is considered a zone of the down light rather than a stand alone entity. Supposedly, LIFX is looking to change this but who knows when that will happen.

Interesting. Is it possible to trigger a scene via WebCore to manage them separately? I'm not sure exactly how I need to name the scene, but I see that, technically, its possible.

Depends on if you are okay with using the LIFX Cloud API as that is the only way to set a scene. The LAN API and Matter integrations do not provide a way to set scenes; thus, causing the uplight and downlight to appear as one.

Just this morning, Home Assistant launched a very Alpha version that allows for separate control (GitHub - Djelibeybi/hass-lifx-ceiling: Provides uplight and downlight control for LIFX Ceiling in Home Assistant), but there are very strong warnings with it.
