I have a new lift master garage door opener and a zigbee relay. I thought just shorting the button wire would open the door. But I only see the led on the garage door opener blink.
Do I need to add a resister or something?
Does it have a yellow learn button? If so, you'll need something to get around its Security+ 2.0 -- that's why the shorting trick doesn't work with those models.
If you want to use the relay you have, a Garadget in between the relay and GDO shoud work.
Other workable solutions are RATGDO or Konnected's BlaQ.

I ran into the same issue and solved it by wiring the relay to the back of the supplied button. That way it acts like a 2nd switch ahead of the electronics that do the security encoding.
