Hi, I've added several Leviton Z-Wave Dimmer VRMX1-1LZ to my Hubitat with no issues.
However, I have one of these in a 3-way set up with the VP00R-1LZ matching switch. It's the one with the LEDs and it matches exactly what is on the main dimmer. The problem is when I turn on inclusion mode in the Hubitat, I think this VP00R-1LZ is detected and Hubitat keeps trying to initialize. The VP00R-1LZ, from what I remember, uses some sort communication to the main dimmer for matching.
I've tried to exclude this matching switch but it doesn't exclude it and whenever I'm in inclusion mode, it's detected and keeps trying to initialize.
Luckily, it doesn't stop me from including other devices.
It only started doing this once I excluded the main 3-way dimmer from my Wink. Then when I tried including the 3-way to Hubitat, I accidentally tried including it from the matching switch (VP00R) instead of the main switch (VRMX1) so it detected the matching switch that way.
Any ideas? Thanks!
The 1LZ matching remote doesn't have z-wave capability - so it cannot include (or exclude). I've made the mistake in the past of trying to use it instead of the main leviton dimmer/switch - they are easy to mix up once you have installed them.
On the main switch/dimmer you should try to exclude. If that doesn't work keep holding down the paddle until it flashes red - which should factory reset it. Then go through the include process of holding down until it flashes amber while the hub is in include mode. (From memory - its a while since I used the older z-wave models).
I am assuming that you haven't got a device showing up as a generic z-wave dimmer in your device list - if you have and it isn't associated properly you may have to force remove it.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the reply. I tried excluding and including. Z-wave repair.
What did it was rebooting the hub! I think the issue was that when I tried to include it the first time using the matching switch, it didn't include properly because I didn't do it from the main dimmer.
All is well.
Thanks!
