I have a ZSE70 on my deck.
It has worked fine until lately.
The battery is 94% now and I'm getting lots of false alerts.
I have the Dusk to Dawn is set to 500 so it shouldn't report in the dark.
It is dark out and no one is in the driveway but the events come in rapid succession sometimes.
Is it sensitive to the battery level? I get no battery reports in the logs so I assume 94% is still healthy.
What type of battery? E.g., are they rechargeable?
I had my Iris v2 Motion Sensors start to throw errant motion events when I used rechargeable CR2 batteries and the batteries started to get low (e.g., they reported 66%). I have no problems with the same rechargeables in the v2 Contact Sensors. My solution was to (sadly) use disposables in the motion sensors and keep the rechargeables for the contact sensors.
I'm using the ones supplied by Zooz.
I can pull them and compare; I have new Zooz ones.
Pink PKCell
Batteries changed.
I'll see if it keeps sending events.
2.96 reports as 94%, new ones are 3.31 VDC.
That battery (CR123) is considered low at 2.75-2.9 VDC. So, looks like the 94% is a miscalculation.
So far today it has been acting nicely so yes, a recalc might be in order, I never received a battery warning from the driver.
Are you using Jeff,s driver? That is what I use. I have 4 of these, 2 on battery and 2 are wired. Batteries show at 97 and 98. The one showing 97 has been up since 12/20/2024.
Yes, Jeff's driver.
I seem to have no issues now after fresh batteries.
Beware 94%. ![]()
