LED Sneak Peek

So we're building an 80's arcade in the basement and one of things I felt was a must have was Blue and Red neon. So here is some preliminary pics. Of course a lot of it is controlled by Hubitat.

One bar red, one bar blue. Running an ESP32 with WLED. They will randomly change to opposite color with random opposite color led's traveling along all the strips (so if a bar is red, then a 3 or 4" section of blue will travel around the room and vice versa. Very 80's tron)

Primary wall, TV and light gun pedestal

Tracks freshly installed

1st coat of mud

Rear of the arcade. Same setup. 2 Bars run's horizontal then vertical down... Main arcade machines, racing cab and pinball machines

Stairs. This will simply be a 2700k led strip. Using a NYCE hinge sensor to turn it on when the basement door is open.

Black light reactive carpet (3 black lights mounted to ceiling)

Regarding the stairs. You have the stair lights turned on by opening the door up top. But I am guessing people will shut that door to lower the noise level from downstairs. So how do you turn on the stair lights if you are already downstairs?

They get turned off when we go to bed and hit the entire house shut down OR if we turn off any the Lutron pico at the bottom (or main switch at the top of the stair) the stairs will turn off after 15 mins. But given the kids behavior they will just go out with the whole house shut down.

Looking good!!! Please keep us up to date on this project.

I plan on doing something similar, if I even manage to move to somewhere cheaper (and where houses have basements)...

Pittsburgh. Low cost of living, cheap but well built houses (albeit it sucks dry walling rough cut lumber). Heck still have to sell our old house. 1920 Victorian. Selling it for 180k. 2100 sq ft. Rennovated.

Super nice man!

Please do keep us updated on the progress. That carpet looks fantastic.

One flush mount light installed. This is just white, not RGB. Only stairwell done since I need to get the stairs and skirts and kickers done this week.
