Good morning everyone,
When entering notes of any considerable detail it results in the label name column in the device layout to be very long as compared to those same notes in the rooms layout.
This results in the remaining columns in this layout to be "crunched" up quite a bit. It appears there is no line-break / auto pagination occurring like that in the rooms layout. See photos below.

Would it be possible to have the same line-break width occur for the notes in the devices layout as that occurring in the rooms layout? Obviously if the community or developers object for other functional / aesthetic reasons that I am missing I apologize in advance - Don

FYI - I moved your post over to the Feedback/Feature Requests category to make sure it is seen by folks like @gopher.ny from the Hubitat Team.
Not to discount your issue since the UI should be able to handle it correctly. There was also an issue with an extremely long attribute string in the "Status" column that did something similar.
Anyway... did you know they added a note box on the info tab for 2.4.0? You may want to move your notes there unless you like having them displayed in the device list like that.

Also by the way, my advanced ZEN15 driver the current reporting works fine, but it is reporting to the "Amperage" attribute per the capability specs for Hubitat. Current would make more sense I agree but I followed the capability definition from Hubitat.

Thank you both for you responses.

Thanks for moving this to the correct forum. I will use this forum for similar topics in the future.

I would much rather use the most up-to-date drivers including their enhanced functionality.
I will look at updating the rule to use amperage as time permits. Then I will go back to using the advanced driver.
Not sure why current is providing measurements in your environment but not for me. I am using the Zooz ZEN Plugs Advanced driver everywhere except for these two devices since it would not report current. Note the firmware on these two devices is 1.6. I had to roll back to the Zooz original Power Switch driver to have the current data report once again.
I first thought maybe it was because the host device was on a remote hub and traversing a mesh network where the rule was executing on the 2nd hub. The current is not displaying on either hub.
Regarding the notes, I apologize if I am missing the note box you are mentioning but I think we may be talking about the same one? I am using the note box within the Device Info tab on the Device. Are you speaking of a different note box within a different tab within a different function such a rule manager? Sorry, just not sure where it is that you are speaking of if different than what I am already using. - Don
I guess we are, I had not even used it yet. Somewhere you said something about the device label so I thought you were using that for notes. I did not realize it would put the actual note on the device list. Just tested it for myself. Definitely a bug @gopher.ny
Also, there is no way to turn this note off from showing on the device list that I see? Also concerning.

Sounds good. Thanks for checking! Hope you have a great weekend!
Good morning,
I personally don't mind the notes showing in the device and room lists provided they show similar to the rooms display vs. the run-on sentence in place in the devices display in place currently. In the rooms display all the all the data seems to fit pretty well as the columns seem to dynamically adjust.
I think showing or not showing the notes is more a personal preference and having a way to switch them on/off would be great if the developers would do that.
If not, maybe the notes could programmatically be set to be a little less wider. Granted my example note was extra long and was exaggerated in length to show the effect.
It would also be "nice" if the notes from a remote device via a hub mesh network were carried over to the local device on the 2nd hub but this may be asking for a bit much.
Obviously the quickest resolution is to shorten the notes :-). In the majority of cases this is possible; while in others, more verbose notes may be needed but a more technical enforcement to ensure consistency and readability within the product would be automatic pagination.
Make it a good day

If you turn on compact view in the settings the notes will not be displayed.
Good to know.
I am a fan of the notes and am hoping they fix the length in the devices display
Ok that works but what if I dont want compact and also don’t want the notes….
I guess you would be screwed.
I am grateful for the new notes field
I believe the notes, being their own field, should show in their own column.
I would also prefer to be able to set the width of each column myself, select which column(s) appear, and be able to sort on the columns.
