Kwikset Convert Zigbee Help

I paired my Kwikset Convert module to HE (seemed to work) with the idea that I would swap out the old Z-Wave module (non-plus) in my Kwikset 910. But then I ran into issues:

1. I could not get it to accept lock codes from the device page. The process I followed was - a) Hit "configure" b) enter code position, PIN code and name c) hit "save preferences". No lock codes would show in "Current Status".

2. I figured I would swap the Z-Wave module with Zigbee and try programming from the keypad and I could not get the Z-Wave module out of the old lock. The Zigbee module slides right out of the lock assembly, so do I need to physically remove the old lock assembly before I can remove the Z-Wave module?

3. I tried to "exclude" the Zigbee module from HE (the one I had paired in Step 1) and whatever I do (press "B" 9 times or try and factory reset) does not seem to remove the lock.

Any thoughts on what I can try or steps that I'm missing? Thanks for your help

Thanks! That removed the device from HE but there was no confirmation from the lock. Hopefully, it's all fine Will try and include it again and see what happens (now that I know how to exclude it )
