I have someone using the HE C-8 initially setup with all devices including locks in July of `24. About 3 months ago the 620 HomeConnect stopped working in the Dashboard. It still works within Devices (lock and unlock) but stopped working from the Dashboard. If he taps the tile for the lock the Unlock icon changes to hourglass and then freezes. No response on the lock. Same behavior is observed within Dashboard using browser. If he tells Alexa+ to lock or unlock the lock responds appropriately. Batteries are new. Hub was updated from 2.3.6.144 to 2.4.3.137 yesterday and the app on the Android phone was also updated. These steps didn't help.
I have used the 914 and the 620's before without any issues on the C7 and C8. I should add I am setting up the lock with the Generic Z-wave driver (as I have always done with the 914 and 620 Kwikset locks). The only thing I can come up with is the Dashboard has somehow become corrupted and needs to be rebuilt.
Do any of the community members have another thoughts? Thank you for your response(s) in advance.
Strange, the dashboard button won't use home connect itself, it uses the driver to control it. Try deleting the button and recreating it then watch the logs. (test on PC before phone)
I tried that without success. I tried deleting one of the locks from the dashboard and then recreating the tile. I experienced the same errant behavior. I believe his 2 locks (both are 620's) are the only two tiles in the whole dashboard that aren't working correctly. So I am wondering if it is possible that the dashboard somehow became corrupted creating a situation where only the Locks behave in this manner. He has about 14 to 15 devices total (all Z-wave) including Leviton Z-wave Fan Controls, Leviton Z-wave fan light controls, and GE switches light switches. I can try to create a new dashboard and have the locks be the first to tiles, then test and if resolved then finish creating the remaining devices in the new dashboard.
I have found that dashboard tiles don't even need the driver to have the defined capabilities of the tile, they only want the attributes they display to be there, and a command to change the state to be there.
If it is not displaying lock on dashboard, I would check that the device page is displaying the lock attribute on the command tab, as that is all the tile wants. If the attribute is there, something is corrupted on the dashboard that it doesn't want to display it.
