KitchenAid Integration?

Has anyone seen an integration with KitchenAid smart devices? I have a range that is smart, and I love the ability to pre-heat the oven from my bed. To enhance that, I'd love to be able to announce on my Sonos devices that the oven has preheated.

Anyone seen anything like this?

I would say this. I have some Samsung integrations through SmartThings, and anything that is gas powered, my ovens and gas dryers, cannot be started from the app. They can only be monitored and stopped...

Not sure about KitchenAid and their app, but I'd check there to see what the capabilities are, before looking for an integration into Hubitat. They might be different and/or your range might be electric...

Just my thoughts.

It is gas, and I can preheat the oven from the KitchenAid app.

Then my guess is it will work if they have an accessible API... Now to find someone to help with the Hubitat integration.

Most of the appliance manufactures do not have a published API and if they do, they are subject to change at will.

HOWEVER, if you have an Amazon account, Amazon Alexa has the Kitchen Aide skill. With that you could:

Directly control via voice on an Alexa Device (no risk increase)

Create a virtual device in Hubitat that is reflected in the Alexa structure. Then rules in Alexa to accomplish the action. Risk increase due to additional complexity due to the Hubitat Virtual device and Alexa rule set YOU create.

virtual device is a good idea, thanks!
