Keywe Smart lock replacement

i’ve had my keywe lock for six years now. The company is now defunct and the app no longer works. However, despite not being connected to my hubitat for over six months and no longer having an app, it still works perfectly fine.

Unfortunately, since it is no longer supported by its manufacturer, I wanted to find an alternative that has the one feature I care the most about and isn’t a downgrade . I want to. find a lock like it with the autolock function built-in. I don’t want a 5 second countdown. I want to close the door and have it lock.

I don’t want to program a contact sensor to make it do that even though I could, because I still want it to work even if it’s been disconnected from my hubitat for six months. I’ve been looking around and so far it seems there’s only two or three locks which have this feature that are not Wi-Fi. I don’t want Wi-Fi because I don’t wanna be dependent on a cloud for my lock to work.

I also don’t want to pay $300 for a lock with a bunch of fancy features. My keywe was $120 and the only unlock method I’ve needed has been the pin. Are there any lesser known smart locks that are Zigbee or z wave with this feature that arent $300? Or should I just hope that when my lock eventually breaks that I can find another keywe on eBay?

Tldr

Looking for a hubitat compatible smartlock that comes with a door sensor included. And auto-locks with the sensor whether or not my hubitat is connected. That can also report what pins were used and when. And isnt $300 with a bunch of features I honestly dont need.

Aqara U400. I think some of the other Aqara locks have the feature also.

The Yale Assure Lock 2 with z-wave can be set to instant auto lock when it is used with DoorSense magnets. The locks themselves are generally highly regarded here too. I just upgraded all my exterior doors and am pretty happy with them.

I just recently replaced my KeyWe with an Alfred lock. It has been working well so far and passed the WAF and kid-usability. The only thing that has been a bit of a downer is the auto-lock feature. Since it has no sensor (like the KeyWe did) it will happily extend the bolt even when the door is open. Not THAT big a deal, but something to be aware of. If I bothered to get my door contact sensor working properly I could easily disable it, then tell it to lock through Hubitat instead… but I am REALLY bad about replacing contact sensor batteries, to the point that I have pretty much decided to give up on them.

I saw an article about some researchers that are designing a system based around ultrasonic “clicks” with specially cut metal discs that can be detected by a central powered sensor, replacing the need for battery powered contact sensors in a room (each window/door could have a separate shaped disc and all “heard” by the same central sensor). I hope that technology comes soon and works properly (at reasonable cost) because I would be very interested in that…
