My kasa integration app won't let me update my credentials. It shows up with my username and password I manually enter them and it does nothing. Most of my Kasa disappeared yesterday am. I've tried some of the suggestions on the community post but nothing worked.
That was changed several months ago when TP-LInk (Kasa) moved their cloud server. There is no API available for this new server, No longer available.
Part of the update was to change the devices over to LAN connectivity vice cloud - since cloud no longer works.
The problem is I can't get TpLink on the app won't let me login. I was off the cloud for over a year. Whatever happened it wiped out most of my devices.
I have a token ( e28cfc43-ATSNaMkcJ0xge5H46CJscb3) but still can't get into the cloud with it.
I can help with Hubitat, not TP-Link nor the Kasa phone app.
- Are the devices still installed in Hubitat?
- Have you tried an Kasa Integration App find devices?
- Have you tried a device configure command?
- Are the devices showing up on the same segment as your Hub in your router?
- Using the KASA Phone app, can you connect to the devices?
Yes most of them are still on habitat. I have the Kasa app on my phone. I got a couple outlets and switches on the app. I can't get them on the hubitat on the integration app just sends me to get a token I go to the login page username and password are filled in I save each one and click next. That takes me back to the I need a token page. One more thing with the kasa app I can't get my switches to connect.
What HUB version are you on?
C8 pro. latest update 2.4.3.149.
Are you using the Built In app? or the Community?
The Built-In is the ONLY version that is being maintained. The Community has been dead for several years.

I think it's yours
It has been deprecated for two years in favor of the built-in app (maintained by me).
Option 1:
- Delete your current Kasa Integration app (which will delete all the Kasa Devices).
- Reinstall the devices using the Built-in App.
Option 2: (not guaranteed to work, and from my 77 year old memory)
- Open the App and zero out the credentials.
- Run device discovery in the app (this may update the data for the devices to transition them, may not.
- For each device:
- Check if it is working (hopeful).
- if not, In preferences, select use Kasa Cloud to FALSE then run save preferences.
- Check again.
I am out of town now. I will try them when I get home. Thanks for your help I'll let you know the outcome early next week.
Ok I got back today and deleted the kasa integration and installed the built-in app. Everything came back except the 2 HS210 switches i have.
Were there any warning or error logs?
Are the HS 220 on the same lan SSID's as Hubitat? At least the same segment?
Kasa Phone App
- go to Me Third Party Compatibility and toggle on-off to end at on.
- Open the HS210 (each) and exercise them (turn on the off)
Immediately, open the Hubitat Kasa Integration and try install again.
Yes everything is on the same network. I tried phone app exercise a couple times and hasn't worked yet I'll keep trying. I just got the switches back on the Tapo app a couple hours ago should I reboot my hubitat?
Not required. For the HS210, you should try the Built In Kasa App. It is older manufacturing date and has not yet transition from IOT protocol to SMART protocol.
I am using the built in Kasa app ID#942
I got them all back on the hubitat. I was on my tablet and ran the Kasa integration app again and it found them. Thanks again for your help.
