it appears the built in app was changed at some point even though it was working and there is no longer any cloud options.. i have a few switches i need to be cloud as they effect the network and the hubitat will be offline if they are turned off.
those devices are cloud bound to a secondary backup network so their ips would not be visible to the hubitat anyway. why was this functionality removed without us knowing?
The built in was changed because KASA moved their cloud server, disabling that feature. It was/is an unnecessary feature.
See the below link for first discovery and correction.
Probably what this release note is referring to?
Not much detail there.
thanks bummer does the tapo integration have cloud access capability to connect to the Kasa minis?
No. The Kasa and Tapo integrations are now local only.
a. Open the Kasa Integration and discover the devices.
b. If that does not correct the problem, try using the preference Manual IP Update and set to the current value on your router.
thanks cannot do that as I said there on my backup ip network on att access pt so not reachable.
By the way cloud control of the Kasa switches is still possible via hubitat. I was able to add the Kasa/to-link skill to Amazon which controls the switches via cloud with account linking. Then in habitat u can setup virtual switch and contact sensor driver that go to Alexa routines to turn on/off etc
