Just Being Petty - Dashboard Options simplification

New Iris convert and I am LOVING Hubitat! Awesome work everyone! I am going through the newbie learning found a simple nuance on the Dashboard app. Granted, this may only be bugging me!

I would MUCH prefer having the option to have only 24 colors to pick from when editing templates (like the way it is in the grid options) Sliding the mouse around to choose a color for the switch states, almost never matches the solid colors I wan't use for my icons. After seeing all of my different icons color being just a little off from one another, I find myself going into the RGB code in the JSON file and copy and pasting the same values so all my colors match.

Just my opinion, but for me a simple selection would be better.

You can edit the Json or you can copy the HEX/rgb code from and existing template and paste it into the new template as needed. That is how I ensure my tiles throughout my dashboard have matching colors.

I agree that I want to keep my colors the same, dashboard to dashboard but when I'm creating a new dashboard I don't mess with the colors.

At some point in the creation, I open the Advanced tab and Layout of my 'master' and it shows all the code. Starting with:

  "customColors": [
    {

I copy everything between those and paste it into the new dashboard. All done.

I use a program called "colors" from den4b.com . It allows me to match any other colors on my desktop by just clicking on the desired color. This program is free.

Thanks for the hints! IMHO, sometimes simple is better!

True dat !

ColorZilla is another option that installs via add on in your browser:
