I ordered from itead on June 11. They released them the 18th. I still haven't gotten my order. What timeline of ordering is going on for you guys. Is this long to wait or?
mine arrived pretty quick and btw they came with Batteries even though the site said they would not...
With that kind disregard for the truth you should send them back.
Last I talked to itead on June 18th, there was a processing error on my order.
Two days ago I tried to email the email I was previously talking to. No response. Today I'm using their ticketing system.
I want to have the devices but now I'm concerned this might be more problematic.
Itead have been very slow in responding to e-mails, often 2 weeks, if you're lucky 2 days. This has been the case every time I've contacted them, both now and in the past. Once they ship it has been fast, however, and their shipping tend to be very professional.
Ok thanks for the info.
I have 2 each of the motion sensors, temperature sensors and contact sensors they are all working great with @markus drivers. The only thing I have noticed is the motion sensors take a bit of time to clear after sensing motion but that is not a big deal for me. I think the motion sensors are working better then the ZooZ outdoor motion sensor I have (it some times doesn't detect motion....)
The motion sensors take 60 seconds to clear from the last motion sensed, that is checked continuously so if there is motion after 50 seconds from the first motion sensed, it will clear after 1 minute and 50 seconds.
@markus figured it was something like that thanks for the info. And thanks for the excellent drivers
Is that different from the Xiaomi's? They don't re-sense until their previous sense 60 seconds is up right?
Exactly, it is very different. In some locations the way the Sonoff works is what makes it usable. I replaced an Aqara in the Master Bath with the Sonoff, now I don't need to use humidity to make sure lights don't turn off during a shower.
But does it therefore mean that the Sonoff is sending active signals continuously? I mean, the Xiaomi will not sense again and send another active for at least 60 seconds after the previous trigger. But the Sonoff would send an active signal again after, say, 5 seconds? So the battery life will definitely not be as good I'm guessing...
It does not, it only keeps detecting, it is the "not active" signal that is delayed by additional movement.
Ah, I see. Thanks. I'm trying to get my head around how this would affect real world performance. It feels to me like these will be much better for motion lighting scenarios. Cheers.
Depending on the location, they are. I don't see the benefit in for example a corridor or anywhere where you normally just pass through, but in locations where movement is sporadic and not necessarily as easily detectable as someone walking (eg typing on a keyboard or changing position in the sofa) these would perform better. Aimed at my keyboard it stays active. I've had it stay active for 1 hour that way... Then I left my desk for a few minutes...
Just ordered a few. Motion lighting is my single biggest heache. Let's see if these help! I'm also going to put some Iris v2 sensors back into service now that I've finally moved all my Gledopto lamps off HE and onto my Hue hub (they were always such a problem and the Xiaomi were a bit better with those lamps). Anyway, now there really shouldn't be anything to interfere with my zigbee mesh. Fingers crossed!
@Hasty1 have you made any progress modding contact sensors to leak sensors?
I have not sat down with one yet to see what is possible
I have got some motion sensors. small, sensitive and very fast. they will never win a design prize but they are cheep also. have a look at Markus driver
Yeah, I use his drivers already. He's the man
