Please avoid double posting about the same question/issue.
@moderators please consider closing this very old thread.
Im sorry Mike, do not worry, i will not be asking any mire questions or for any help. I understand, this forum is volunteer, but negative comments when someine ask for help, then to just suspend them so they can get no help at all from anyone associated with this platform.
If it was not for Krassimir contacting me and explaining that the problems were not my fault, he worked with me until the hub crashed. Yep, blue light of death. The problems was with the hub but no one believed me besides Krassimir. We had made some headway right before it froze up.
Now i have to decide if i want to try a different c7 based on the fact i now know i will be alone searching for written help since the forum is so hostel it makes me sick to even think about asking for help here. It is not worth the hassel.
For any who did offer actual help, thank you and i wish you the best
Sorry you had a fractious interaction Paul, but I expect that will be all it is in the end. Many of us might have misunderstandings or disagreements with specific members of the Community, but I would hate to think that it would see you choose to avoid the platform or not partake in the Community. I think most people here are at least decent enough to acknowledge a difference of opinion and keep their distance where necessary, particularly to avoid any further angst.
I hope to see you around more.
And kudos to @kkossev , a big help to everyone as always.
That said... Sounds like a pretty "bad" situation. I hope you have the thick skin like you describe elsewhere. I would suggest talking to the powers-that-be to see if you can have a chance to clear the air and get back on a more happy medium.
Well, all i can say is we will see. It is just hard to justify anithe 6 minths to something i just spent 4 agonizing months trying to jerry rig it to work with the cutom drivers. Then it gives up the ghost and i am back to square one but a lot more broke for the experience
It is a lot of baggage just to try and get the outdated device's off the approved devices list to work. They were actually harder to get working than the cheap devices. It is unreal. Oh, and i was reprimanded for both ways. (Dont use unapproved devices) or (dont use outdated devices) buy the approved list is almost all old outdated devices.
They beat you back and forth and nothing the end user does is right. It is seriously discouriging.
Getting banned from a "public" forum can often be a confronting situation, regardless of individual perspective on the situation, including whether you agree with the conduct of the person involved. Personally I think when people transgress it is a chance to educate and.... oh... well... I'm probably wasting my time now.... I don't think it is worth chastising or ridiculing those involved... Not that everyone here is guilty of that...
I think if the OP wants to participate in this forum like everyone else does, and can follow the community guidelines (like everyone else must) when posting, then there’s no reason why that shouldn’t work out for all involved.
Best way to do that, IMO, would be for all involved to not dredge up grievances (real, imagined or otherwise) from two months ago with no constructive purpose in mind.
true, but my point was (not directed to you), that we still don't need to criticise those who choose to raise their grievances... Regardless of how they are framed.
Agreed. And if anyone ever feels as though they’re being attacked or otherwise mistreated by another user, that’s exactly what the flagging function is for in the Discourse forum software this community uses.
Flag the specific posts that violate community guidelines, and a staff member (which I am not, to be clear) will address the problem.
Just like how the OP’s conduct resulted in multiple flags from other users in a short time, the upshot of which was a temporary account suspension.
That's probably the context I am missing.... My original point is still (I think) valid in that in dealing with the outcome, we can still be civil in the way we discuss the matter (not directed to you).
Paul, I genuinely hope you can find a way to seek help from the Community again, whether it be through posting publicly or through PM's with those you are comfortably dealing with. There is a good group of now experienced users contributing alongside the HE staff. If you have butted heads with the rules set down (that most of us have not read unless we needed to, if I'm honest), then I would suggest taking an inquisitive approach to better understanding this and finding the best way to direct your questions within the....
Hmm... I'm probably saying the same things that have already been said in the past. All I can say is I hope you persist....
