Hello
New to hubitat so not sure if doing something wrong or I stumbled on a bug.
When adding a philips hue white bulb (no temperature or colour) it gets added as a hueBrdigeBulb, for some reason the groups & scenes app sees that specific bulb (hueBridgeBulb) as a dimmer and not a bulb which causes all types of issues. I had to update all of them to hueBridgeBulbCT so groups would see them as a bulb and not a dimmer therefore fixing the issue.
I would assume this is an issue with the groups & scenes app where it should see the hueBridgeBulb as a bulb and not a dimmer.
I'm not sure I understand the problem.
In Hubitat a dimmer is a light that can have its level set. I think it might be correctly setting your bulb as a dimmer, since it cant change colour temperature like the driver you chose, but it can set level?
yeah it seems I was selecting the wrong group. Was using the group ported over from hue bridge not the group created in hubitat. Thanks for the clear up. Thought dimmer meant it saw it as a dimmer switch, not a bulb.
A common question (which I was writing to explain differently before the above replies). The Groups and Scenes app categorizes devices it supports into one of the three categories you see based on the device's real-world (or really Hubitat-specified, but these are ideally the same) capabilities. To the Groups and Scenes apps, "bulb" means color-capable. "Dimmer" means it can change level (brightness). You will only see devices in exactly one list, the one with the maximum number of matching capabilities. So a white-only "bulb" is really a "dimmer" as far as Groups and Scenes is concerned (it supports level changes but not color).
Glad you got it figured out!
Got it. Thanks for the info!
