Is this a good starting point?

Hi all, so now I have received my HE it's time to start. But after reading a LOT in this community I have this topology in my mind:

I have already an Ikea hub and a Hue bridge. The bulbs are all Ikea. Now I'm planning to connect everything that has to do with lighting to the Hue bridge with its own dedicated zigbee mesh. Besides that I want to build a separate zigbee Xiaomi compatible mesh for the other zigbee stuff. For security / alarm purposes I want to make a mesh for zwave doorsensors (Neo Coolcam).

Does this make sense?

It sounds like you’ve read up on several topics, but I’d point out a couple things to be certain.

One is to keep in mind that you’ll need to be selective about zigbee repeating devices that you deploy in order to make the Xiaomi sensors play nice.

And do you plan to use any mains powered z-wave devices with your door sensors? You could run into mesh issues there if not.

Yes I did, read the complete Xiaomi posts about drivers and keeping connection among others.

That's what I've read there. Ikea outlets are on the list. Maybe a few Xbees.

Yes I am. I have to. But don't know which yet. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for your reply Mark!

Rik

Looks like you’re in the Netherlands, so I’m afraid I can’t help much with suggesting z-wave devices, since I’m in the US.
