I want to sonos for voice speak feature, and I was thinking of buying a use sonos connect gen 2. I was wondering if I can have hubitat asks sonos to speak the text command that I have.
Sonos Connect is an amp. It doesn't have any microphones. So it will not respond to any voice command.
OTOH, if you are asking whether Hubitat's text to speech feature works with the Sonos Connect, the answer is yes.

Assuming you have a pair of speakers to wire to your Sonos amp, then you’d be all set to use the Hubitat Sonos integration.

yes I am referring to the text to speech capability. I have the amp connect gen 1 and it doesn't support text to speech. it looks like you guys confirmed that connect gen 2 support text to speech which I want to use to command my alexa.
@mike.maxwell - why does the Gen 1 Sonos Connect not support TTS?
I have no idea, all the Sonos devices use the same driver, so maybe this is a difference in the actual device?
I have connects but they are S2 capable so they must be the gen 2 units.

mainly because I can't get hubitat to connect. I believe the integration only works with gen 2. maybe I am missing something. did you get gen 1 to work?
I've recently tried playing around with the app with both Ports and hardwired Sonos speakers and I haven't been able to make the text-to-speech feature to work (others I've tested do work perfectly).
Am I missing something about the proposed functionality? Has anyone else been able to make the TTS function work?
So you have a port you're having issues with?
I just tested TTS on my Port and it worked as expected.
Are you getting any status updates on your port device in Hubitat when you control it via the sonos app?
