Is It Currently Possible To "Turn On" %Device Name%?

Question says it all, I hope.
Basiically how would I use a variable containing a device name in a rule and turn the device on/off etc...

No this isn't possible. For security reasons, you must overtly select devices to be controlled in automations.

I think you could use Maker and send a device number as a variable in the triggering URL. No idea if that's useful.
