I cannot get them to show up in the Groups and Scenes addon either yet most of my other devices do.

I don't think that these will do that.

I also have a status bulb in the house so in the evening if the doors are open, the bulbs are red and I remember to close them. Then the bulb turns off.

Maybe Simple Automations? I was able to do it for my door and a RGB device, so I would start there.
